Halloween Events in McKinney

Adults don’t need much of an excuse to dress up, so Halloween is a fun time of year where you can be whoever or whatever you want to be. Consider going on the 2013 Legends of McKinney Ghost Walk on Saturday, October 26th from 6 pm to 10 pm at the McKinney Performing Arts Center located at 111 North Tennessee Street. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on the night. This is a special night where TexPart Paranormal Research is showing their investigative results from some of the sites included in the ghost walk in a movie presentation.

If you don’t want to watch the movie presentation, consider going on the actual ghost walk on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 8 pm. The tour will start at the Wilmeth Schoolhouse at Chestnut Square. Cost is $20 per person and children under 12 are not permitted, while those 12 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Halloween Hustle will be on October 27th. Registration starts at 7 am. There are three different races on that one day.

  • 1k (Fun Run) starts at 7:45 am and costs $20. This is aimed toward children who want to participate in a race!
  • 5k starts at 8:05 am and costs $30.
  • 15k starts at 8:00 am and costs $40.

You will start at the Adriatica Bell Tower located at 401 Adriatic Parkway in McKinney. There will be Starbucks Coffee and refreshments after the race with awards in five-year age group increments. Enjoy music, prizes form sponsors, and more.

Scare on the Square 2013 will be on Thursday, October 31st from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Historic Downtown McKinney near 111 North Tennessee Street. There will be hundreds of trick-or-treaters both young and old dressed in their best Halloween costume. There will be treats and interactive activities so families have a safe place to celebrate Halloween. It will also have a ghost hunt where you can try to find 24 hidden cut-out ghosts around 14 blocks of Historic Downtown McKinney. There is a chance to win a $100 shopping spree. The event will take place rain or shine.
