Have a Blast at 6th Street Halloween

6th Street Halloween in Austin is one of the most popular events you can visit in the city. Over 100,000 people dress up in costume and visit the bars on the infamous street. Several streets will be closed to traffic so those in costume can safely wander the area from bar to bar. This is a huge event that attracts more and more people each year. If you want to see some unique costumes and meet a variety of people, this is the Halloween event for you.

6th Street Halloween

6th Street Halloween takes place on Halloween night. Many families with children will start in the early evening, but kids will leave and that is when the major party begins.

Since 6th Street is closed to cars, there is plenty of room for ghouls, zombies, vampires, and sexy cat’s to roam the street. Some other parties in Austin will actually move their party to 6th Street Halloween as the  night goes on, so by midnight the streets may very well be shoulder to shoulder rather than bumper to bumper.

There is some amazing creativity that goes into the Halloween costumes that you will see at 6th Street this Halloween! Most people are absolutely transformed by the costumes they go all out for during Halloween in Austin and there are TONS of costume contests at venues up and down the street.  Buy drinks at one of the various bars as you mingle with other guys and ghouls. This event is HUGE, and you are sure to see some strange characters, which will only make the night more interesting.
